I spent a little time on the Pastor Wiley Drake show discussing Stephen Hawking's new book, The Grand Design, in which Hawking declares that quantum physics has now proven somehow that God didn't begin the universe. Unfortunately, he uses some well-known science fiction standards (multiverses and alternate history] as rescuing devices.
